Tensions are high this morning around La Vergne High School in Rutherford County, TN. Shots rang out near the high school and two suspects have been apprehended. The accused shooter is a 15-year-old who is said to have used a shot gun. Also arrested was an 18 year old, Damondre Hayes.
"There were a number of children in the parking lot," Detective Jamin Humphress told FOX 17 news. "One vehicle was hit in the school parking lot but no one was struck."
Thanks to a tip from the School Resource Officer, police were able to identify the vehicle involved, where they found firearms.
To give the school more security today, extra school resource officers will be at the school.
