This uncomfortable-to-watch video was taken in the parking garage at Nashville's River House Apartments according to the man who posted the video. His name is Johnny Martinez. His Youtube description says:
On November 27th on or a little after 8:00pm while doing my job of checking for car permits in River House apartments in Nashville. I was confronted by the Karen and her son in the parking garage who earlier were following me for no apparent reason. While performing a routine parking permit audit on the premises for my employer the duo confronted me at a nearby elevator and the first words that came out of the Karen’s mouth were “you don’t belong here, how did you get get in here”. After telling her I was doing my job they became insisted I didn’t belong their and demanded ID. The video begins from that moment on and the rest is Karen history. After the encounter I waited at the property about 40 minutes for Metro PD where I filed a police report and will be pressing charges. The Karen had also called the police and conveniently left out the fact her son assaulted me.
At the :26 mark, it appears the son attacks the camera and/or man with his hands in his pockets a couple times.
The woman threatens to call the police. The man taking the video encourages her to call the police. It seems she calls security instead of the police. When she is describing him, the son chimes in and says what possibly sounds like "with a robbery hat".
Redditors had lots to say...
"I didn't attack you"
Well, that was just uncomfortable to watch. What kind of moron puts his HANDS BACK IN HIS POCKETS while coming AT SOMEONE multiple times. Someone might think he's reaching for a gun.
Where do people get the idea they can ask complete strangers for ID and start ordering them around, then put hands on them when they don't comply?
Also what are they going to do when they get an ID? "Yep, that's this guy's picture none of the other information is useful to me."
Speaking into her phone - “911 right now.”
Iconic Karen move.
Wait…so Tubby tried to attack the guy, got bulldozed, and then Karen wants to call the cops? How do you explain that to the cops? Normally, I wouldn't talk to cops without a lawyer, who would have seen this video first,, but this might call for an exception, the problem being that there's a decent possibility of cops being difficult with you for not engaging with Karen and Tubby's bullshit demands, especially because Karen was able to call 911 first.
