In Norway, all must serve in their military for a few years, men and women. But because of supply chain issues, members of the military must surrender all their underway when their time is up. There's an underwear shortage.

Those that are done must return socks, bras, and underwear. Then Norway's military has to clean them and issue them to new conscripts when they come in.
We hope they are in "gently used" condition.
Lt. Col. Vegard Norstad Finberg told Norway's military news publication that the underwear is checked for quality. Bad stuff is thrown out. Items with minor damage are repaired and then issued to soldiers who must serve 12-19 months.
Critics have said it has led to soldiers near the border of Russia freezing because there's holes in the socks.
