To celebrate the Masters Golf Tournament, Adidas has decided to make and sell golf shoes in a special "Waffle House" edition. The chain that started in Georgia (but has headquarters here in Middle Tennessee) has been immorttalized by the these special Wa-Ho themed shoes.
“Before too long, our teams were already in the design kitchen combining ingredients from the iconic restaurant with one of the most iconic shoes in golf. The end result was the TOUR360 22 x Waffle House – truly a creation unlike any other,” said Adidas in a press release.
Everything about these shoes is a salute to Waffle House.
The off-white color of most of the shoes is meant to symbolize the batter poured into a waffle iron.
The criss-cross waffle pattern appears in an embossment along the top of the shoe. There's a darker waffle pattern on the iconic Adidas stripes down the side. My favorite part is the Waffle House logo in squares (just like the sign) on the back of the shoes. The inside of the shoes are yellow with both Adidas and Waffle House logos.
And get this, the translucent soles are reminiscent of syrup!
Masun Denison, global footwear director, Adidas Golf said, “We love this time of year because more than anything else, it’s an unofficial start to the golf season for everyone. Waffle House is such a well-known restaurant in Georgia and throughout the U.S., we knew it would be fun to partner with their team on a design that brings a piece of the famous restaurant to everyone, all in our flagship silhouette.”
You can buy them starting April 7th on the app for Adidas and "select" retailers.
