You've probably heard of the "do not call" registry, where they supposedly stop people from blind calling your home phone (of the few that still have them) or mobile phone. Everybody loves the idea, but it doesn't seem to stop those unknown calls.
But maybe this will work better. Tennessee has a service called the "Do Not Knock" registry. When you sign up, you go on a list that will stop people from knocking on your door to sell you something.

I'm all for the Amazon driver dropping off boxes and knocking... or the pizza delivery girl... but I am NOT on board with someone trying to talk my ear off about home security systems.
I don't even like it when my friends come over without texting first.
Metro Nashville's website says
Resident Owners or Lawful Occupants
If you are an owner or lawful occupant of any residence within the area of the metropolitan government, you may register on the Do Not Knock list and deter solicitors from coming to your property address by completing the form on hubNashville.
The list of no knock residences will be updated every thirty days.
