A man protesting climate change attacked the Mona Lisa and smeared cake across one of the most admired paintings in all of history. The man came in disguised as an old lady using a wheelchair. After reports that he tried repeatedly to break the protective glass that cover's Leonardo DaVinci's masterpiece, he smeared cake across the glass. Onlookers said he uttered "People are destroying the earth." in French.
The original painting was unharmed as the glass remained between the confection and the woman's face in the Lourve.
“Maybe this is just nuts to me,” someone posted on twitter as a man was cleaning the cake off the glass. “[He] then proceeds to smear cake on the glass, and throws roses everywhere before being tackled by security.”
Museum officials have no comment.
