Waterfalls You Need to Visit In Tennessee

If you didn't know this already, Nashville is just a day trip away from a BUNCH of amazing waterfalls! You need to check these out!WARNING: Always be careful hiking around waterfalls - especially after it rains. The paths can get slippery and the water is usually much higher.

Rock Island State Park (1 hour, 40 mins from Nashville)

If you hike the trails at this park, you'll be able to see Twin Falls! The park is open year round but be cautious - the water tends to rise pretty rapidly (they have loud alarms to warn you when the water is rising).

Moderate Difficulty

Directions: 82 Beach Road Rock Island, TN 38581

Ozone Falls (2 hours from Nashville)

This one is a pretty short, but very steep, hike right off the highway. It's worth the climb down - the views were so pretty that the waterfall was used in the 1994 movie "The Jungle Book"!

 Moderate Difficulty

Directions: Take I-40 to Crab Orchard Exit 329 to Highway 70 East. It is about 5 miles down on your right. Look for a sign that reads “Ozone Falls.”

Cummins Falls (1 hour, 20 mins from Nashville)

Probably one of the most popular waterfalls in the area, Cummins Falls also has a great swimming hole - but be prepared to get wet while hiking, you have to cross through the water at multiple points of the trail.

If you aren't a skilled hiker, there are many overlooks where you can still see the falls without going all the way down!
