For the last 5+ years, Nashville has been America's "it city", with population soaring and estimates of 100 people a day moving to Music City.
However, in 2017, that trend has cooled off.
According to a Tennessean article and 2017 Census estimates, Nashville's growth has dipped below 100 new residents a day, and percentage growth has decreased for the first time since 2017.
Now, let's be clear. Nashville is just fine, thank you very much. The city's population still grew by 1.8 percent in 2017, and there are still estimates that Nashville Metro will grow by 1 million people in the next 25 years. In fact, even though the city fell below the magical "100 people per day" threshold, estimates are still that 94 people per day moved to Music City in 2017...so, yeah, we're fine.
In 2017, Dallas-Fort Worth was the fastest growing metropolitan area, with 146,000 new residents.
