J.K. Rowling Apologizes for Death of Beloved Harry Potter Character

On the anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling took to Twitter to apologize to fans for killing off Dobby, the beloved house-elf.

[If you'll remember, he was murdered by Bellatrix Lestrange as he helped Harry & his friends escape Malfoy Manor.]

Rowling has made it somewhat of a tradition to apologize for the deaths of her characters, choosing one to spotlight every May 2 -- but this year's was particularly emotional for Potter-Lovers.
