Starbucks is Eliminating Single-Use Plastic Straws Globally

On Monday morning, Starbucks announced that they will be eliminating single-use plastic straws, in an effort to be more environmentally conscious.

Apparently, the coffee company has designed a strawless lid which "will become standard for all iced coffee, tea and espresso beverages."

“For our partners and customers, this is a significant milestone to achieve our global aspiration of sustainable coffee, served to our customers in more sustainable ways,” said Kevin Johnson, president and CEO for Starbucks.

Seattle and Vancouver will be the first to see the strawless lids implemented, but the change will be achieved globally by 2020
