Ed Sheeran Is Starring In A Movie...About The Beatles?

Ed Sheeran -- outstanding singer-songwriter, friendly ginger, and all-around great guy -- is about to add another line to his resume.  He's set to star in a movie next September.

The yet-to-be-named film is from director Danny Boyle, the guy behind Slumdog Millionaire and 28 Days Later, among others.  The movie follows a singer-songwriter who wakes up and realizes he's the only person on Earth who remembers The Beatles. Ed, who plays himself, discovers this guy and takes him on tour, and of course the dude becomes SUPER famous while using songs that were originally written by The Beatles.

Sounds like a little bit of a weird concept, right? We'll see how it is in a year, I suppose.

It's not the first foray into acting for Sheeran, although it IS his first prominent role in Hollywood. Ed played bit roles in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and also made a brief appearance on an episode of Game of Thrones, which was not exactly received well.

Good luck Ed! We hope your acting career takes off...but not too much because we're gonna need another album STAT.
