You've seen it - people double parked or illegally parked or even blocking a fire or bike lane. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to ticket them yourself!?
A councilmember in Washington, DC is trying to do just that. Charles Allen has created a new bill to give citizens the power to ticket illegally parked cars just by taking a photo on their cell phone.
He proposes that a small group of people is trained to use the app (not yet created) to test out the concept before it gets pushed out to more people.
Residents that were surveyed about the potential initiative were split on whether or not they thought it was something they wanted.
The bill still has to be debated but Charles is hoping to have it passed by this fall.
