As you'll remember, the Taylor Swift vs Katy Perry feud started back in 2014 because of back up dancers. Allegedly, Taylor hired 3 backup dancers that had previously worked for Katy Perry, to dance on her Red Tour. Katy Perry then went on a world tour and the dancers apparently approached Katy asking to join her tour, even though it would mean they would have to leave Taylor's tour midway through.
Then Taylor releases Bad Blood, which, according to her Rolling Stone interview, was about the following:
“She did something so horrible. I was like, ‘Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.’ And it wasn’t even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I’m surprisingly non-confrontational – you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It’s awkward, and I don’t like it.”
The feud continues. Katy allegedly writes Swish, Swish about Taylor.
But then in 2017, Katy apologized to Taylor during a YouTube live stream and claimed that it's time for their feud to end. Then Katy sent a literal olive branch to Taylor for the opening night of her reputation Stadium Tour.
Katy did a radio interview and said the following about the 'process' of apologizing to Swift.
"It kinda was a process, I sent her a literal olive branch and a note apologizing for my part in all of it, when she started her reputation tour and I just thought she was about to embark on something new and big and needed the support. I realized how much we have in common and maybe there's only 5 other people in the world that can have the same type of conversations and that we should celebrate our commonality and our friendship and be able to be there for each other.I started seeing her around at like the Oscar parties when she was accompanying her BF and I just went up to her and I was like 'hey, you know it's been a long time and I think we've grown up a little bit and I just wanted to say I'm sorry and that I'm really here for you and I love you, I hope that we can be friends.' We started talking a lil bit and trusting each other and she got my number and we started texting. She invited me over to her house and she made me some cookies. She actually makes those cookies and they are actually so delicious. I think both her and I have influenced young people and especially young girls who are in this type of situation day in day and out going through this similar type of thing."
According to the interview, it appears that Katy was the first (and only) one to apologize.
