Tennessee Aquarium Uses Electric Eel To Light Up Christmas Tree

Science is cool, ya'll!

The Tennessee Aquarium (which is awesome, by the way) over in Chattanooga is trying a little experiment with their electric eel.

Can 'Miguel WATTson' light up a Christmas Tree?

Turns out he can...well, kinda.

The eel's tank has a Christmas tree attached to it, and every time Miguel gives off a little shock, the electricity is used to light up the tree.

It's not constant, but you can definitely tell when he's excited (like when he's eating) because the lights will flash REALLY brightly accompanied by a loud sound.

SCIENCE!!!!
