It's been awhile since we've received new music from the eclectic and adaptable artist, M.I.A, specifically three years. M.I.A. announced earlier this week that she will release a new track for the new year. In an interview back in 2018 with Rolling Stone, she claimed, "I want to [retire], and I have said I am, and it's time for new people to come through, but that's very difficult. Because actually I think it's harder now than it was for me 15 years ago, which is crazy."
Well it doesn't look like retirement is on the way just yet. She teased a short video on instagram that she will be releasing new music this coming Friday, January 31st. So far it sounds like a dance track.
