LEGO Building Face Masks For Protective Workers

The news has been full of stories of businesses shifting their production to things that are more necessary to the fight against COVID-19. Ventilators, cleaning supplies, and medical supplies have come from a plethora of unlikely surfaces.

But here's one that's totally out of left field.

LEGO - yes, the super-fun blast-from-your-childhood brick-building company - has reworked some of their machinery in Denmark to build face masks for medical professionals.

While not as effective against COVID-19 and other viruses as the recommended N95 masks that are in short supply, these LEGO plastic masks paired with a cloth mask can offer sufficient protection for healthcare professionals in a pinch.

The company estimates they can make 13,000 plastic masks per day with their equipment.
