The TSSAA released their COVID-19 regulations for the upcoming high school football season, and let's just say IF high school football happens, it will look VERY different in 2020.
First and foremost, all fans will be required to wear masks in the stands, which comes as no surprise.
Schools will also be asked to limit fan attendance and section off seats to encourage social distancing. All coaches, players, team personnel, officials, and fans will also need temperature checks before entering the stadium.
All scrimmages, practices with other teams, and football jamborees are canceled, and if a team experiences a COVID-19 outbreak, the opposing team will be awarded a win, while the affected team will basically have that game erased from their record.
Of course, if schools end up closing again, all of this could be out the window, but at least for now prepare for some changes to Friday Night Lights going forward.
