Fans of the legendary Van Halen guitarist lit up social media calling it "pathetic" "disrespectful" and a "snub."
Another fan on Twitter wrote: "Eddie Van Halen deserved a bit more than that. How many kids in the 80s picked up a guitar and wanted to be him?"
