We've known for a while that Betty White had a deep love for animals, but this story is next level!
The Audubon Aquarium in New Orleans revealed in a tweet on Friday that the beloved 'Golden Girls' star actually privately paid for a plane to relocate the penguins and sea otters after Hurricane Katrina in 2005!
The tweet read:
We lost a conservationist, animal advocate, and friend. When the penguins & sea otters were evacuated to @MontereyAq for Hurricane Katrina, Betty White paid for the plane to relocate them. She did not ask for fanfare; she just wanted to help. #ThankYouForBeingAFriend
