You CAN Get a Food Hangover!

Have you ever had a bunch of junk food one night and then woken up the next day feeling like you drank 8 tequila shots the night before?

WELL GUESS WHAT! You can actually get a hangover from certain foods!

Let's go over all the fun foods that will make you feel awful the next day:

1. REFINED SUGAR

Makes sense right? When you eat a lot of sugar, your body is forced to pump out more insulin, which in turn causes your blood sugar to drop. When that drops, you're left feeling exhausted and not like a functional human being.

2. FOOD DYES

Certain food dyes and additives have been linked to causing migraines and that wonderful hungover feeling, especially Red Dye #40 (although research on the connection isn't conclusive).

3. CARBS

You knew this one was coming...one of my favorite food groups can also cause your blood sugar to spike and leave you feeling like you drank all night. The good news is that you don't have to cut out carbs completely (!!) - just balance them out with foods containing other nutrients.
