Sarah Michelle Gellar is catching a lot of heat for an Instagram post she put up about Thanksgiving. The actress posted multiple shots of her in lingerie with the caption:
"I’m just going to pin these up all over my house as a reminder not to overeat on Thursday#thanksgivingprep"
With over 30 MILLION people in the United States suffering from some type of eating disorder, this post may trigger those currently suffering or just further push the concept that women have to look a certain way.
We obviously don't know Sarah Michelle personally so it's hard to tell where her reasoning to post this came from but some people in her comments were definitely upset.
She replied to them in the comments section saying the following:
“It’s come to my attention that some people think I was ‘fat shaming’ with this post. That could not be further from my intentions. I love Thanksgiving and unfortunately my eyes are often bigger than my stomach, and I tend to eat so much I make myself sick. This was a joking reminder to myself not to do that. I’m terribly sorry that people were offended by my attempt at humor. Any one that knows me, knows I would never intentionally ‘shame’ any one on any basis. I am a champion of all people.”
