Former Nashville News Anchor Sues Channel 4 for Age/Gender Discrimination

Demetria Kalodimos was a news anchor at Channel 4 for 33 years when she was let go in 2018 after her contract expired.

Now she's suing Channel 4's parent company, Meredith Local Media Group, for alleged age discrimination and gender bias.

Almost a year ago, three other Channel 4 employees also filed an age discrimination lawsuit against the company as well. That suit named Kalodimos as a witness to several acts of age-based discrimination including "spreading false rumors that she would be retiring soon and referring to her as an 'old maid,'" according to her former colleagues.

UPDATE: Denise Eck, Channel 4's news director who let Demetria go, has been let go as well, as of February 27, 2019. She was replaced by Mitch Jacob. The lawsuit, filed by Demetria and two other on-air personalities, reached a settlement around the same time. No specifics about the settlement were reveale
