According to law enforcement officials, “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett has just been indicted for falsely reporting a hate crime.
Jussie reported that he had been attacked in an apparent hate crime (he is gay and black) in January in Chicago - but today a grand jury found probable cause that he in fact staged the attack.
Although there was no surveillance footage and no witnesses, Smollett has continually insisted that the attack happened as he originally stated.
