A New Tennessee Marriage Law May Affect Upcoming Weddings

Many people choose to get married by a friend or family member - unfortunately, you won't be able to do this in Tennessee for much longer.

Starting July 1st, ministers ordained online will no longer be able to officiate weddings in the state of Tennessee.

In an interview with Fox 17, Pastor Bruce Raley (with First Baptist Church in Hendersonville) said the following:

"What Tennessee is doing is taking us back to our historical roots."

Elected officials and religious leaders will still be able to officiate weddings.
