Hip-Hop Pioneers The Last Poets Celebrate 50 Years with Special Guests

It's no question Hip Hop has been a focal point in American history. You can now add it to the pandemic era that we're facing now. From virtual battles available on social media platforms, viewers are able to engage in real time with their favorite artists. During this time of quarantine we were able to witness monumental battles of Grammy Award winning producers, artists and songwriters through Verzuz TV; curated by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland.

But if we're talking history, you can't mention Rap or Hip Hop without the legendary, The Last Poets. d poetry over dynamic beats, some would say they started Hip-Hop. Credited features on artists from the likes of Tribe Called Quest, NWA, Public Enemy; not to mention Common's Grammy-nominated song, "The Corner."

Fast-forward while we're in a global pandemic, The Last Poets will be celebrating their 50th annivesary with a live stream conversation at 7PM EST. Also joining in will be Rakim, Black Thought, Jadakiss, KRS-1, Sonia Sanchez, Black Thought, Jessica Care Moore, Chubb Rock, Doug E. Fresh, Rapsody, and Black Ice.
