Nashville is rolling out full deployment of body-worn cameras on police officers after two years of negotiations. The body-worn camera deployment will start next month at West Precinct. Mayor Cooper announced the city renegotiated contracts with body camera vendors to the reduce the cost from $40 million to $2.1 million. In addition, patrol cars will now have three cameras as well.
Other precincts will begin deployment no later than February 2021.
