Still in the midst of a pandemic, many are still without jobs, working from home and unable to pay rent. There's good news for U.S. residents who have fallen behind on their rent or mortgage payments because of coronavirus pandemic. The U.S. has ordered a ban on evictions through December. This applies to all residents whose income has been affected by the pandemic. The new eviction ban is being enacted through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The goal is to stem the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak. The other side of this is that it doesn't offer any way for landlords to recoup unpaid rent.
