Whale Sculpture Stops Train From Crashing

A subway train in the Netherlands crashed through a barrier and was about to plunge 30 feet onto the street below, until it was miraculously saved by a giant whale's tail.

It may sound like a tall tale, but it's exactly what happened. Transportation officials say there were no injuries after the train arrived at the station, jumped the track and crashed through a buffer. Fortunately, there are two giant sculptures of a whale's tail built right outside the station and the train finally came to a stop on top of one of them.

Had that tail not been there, the train would have fallen 30 feet to the street. Oddly enough, the sculpture is named "Saved by the Whale's Tail."
