Boy Band 'Why Don't We' Samples Smashing Pumpkins In New Song

When it comes to music today, artists will sample other artists so it's no surprise when you hear a new song and think wow this sounds so familiar. In this case, boy band Why Don't We has sampled an iconic rock record from the Smashing Pumpkins. Why Don't We released their song 'Slow Down' and it samples Smashing Pumpkins '1979' and when asked about the song, Daniel Seavy member of Why Don't We had this to say about the song and sampling 1979,

“‘1979’ is such a beautiful song,” said Daniel. “It’s so universal. Anyone can listen and enjoy it. When we were writing ‘Slow Down,’ we wanted to make it just as special. The song is personal and easy to listen to all at the same time. It’s nostalgic and new all at once.”

I will say that sitting here listening to the song while writing this, the song is pretty catchy and is unlike any of previous music from Why Don't We.

Check out Slow Down below and let me know what you think.
