Teacher Caught On Zoom Ranting About Parents

A high school teacher in California was caught on video delivering an epic rant about parents, daring them to "come at me".

39-year-old Alissa Piro was on a Zoom call with students when she went off on parents criticizing her and calling for schools to reopen. At one point, she said "I am so sick to my stomach of parents trying to tell educators how to do their job". She later apologized for "going off".

After the video was shared on Facebook, Piro's school principal called the rant "inexcusable" but has not yet taken any official action.

Should Piro be disciplined for her rant - or does she have a point? Do parents put too much pressure on teachers - especially during something like the pandemic?
