Police Are Warning Motorists to Beware of Corpses on the Road

South African police are warning motorists to avoid stopping if they see any dead people on the road.

The warning, issued Tuesday by the Cape Town police, comes after a driver happened upon what he thought was a dead woman in the road, officials say. When he left his vehicle to investigate, an armed man appeared and held a gun to his head, according to police. The "woman" on the road, who turned out to be a man, then got up and the duo forced the motorist to drive them to nearby Steenberg. They then robbed him and left, police say.

The suspects remain at large, investigators say.
