Here's Why The End of the World Could be Coming

Remember when this was trending during the 2016 Presidential Campaign?

Well, perhaps we should be careful what we wish for, because according to one scientist, that meteor could be headed our way...and could create an "apocalyptic" event NEXT MONTH.

This object, which has been creatively named "2016 WF9", is a dark object between 0.3 miles and 0.6 miles wide, and is coming dangerously close to Earth's orbit.

Dr. Joseph Nuth of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, believes that this object is on a direct collision course with the planet, and will create an "extinction-level" event similar to what killed off the dinosaurs millions of years ago.

Another Russian astronomer believes that it will create huge tsunamis that will destroy large swaths of the planet.

NASA as a whole, however, is denying those claims, saying that there's a pretty good chance that this thing is going to miss us by 32 million miles...which I suppose in space terms is a "narrow miss" but nonetheless a pretty safe barrier.

That said, we don't really have any plans if the thing does take a turn at us.  The space program is largely frozen, and with an arrival date predicted of February 25th, there's not really enough time to formulate a solid, Bruce Willis in Armageddon-like plan to save the world.

So, if indeed this thing is headed our way, better start kissing your loved ones now!
