We love Britney Spears. But let's face it, over the course of her career there's been a lot of questions about her ACTUAL singing ability. Lots of auto-tune, lip-syncing in concert, and videos like this one have not helped that perception:
So today, when a version of her huge hit "Toxic" WITHOUT auto-tune came out, I was honestly sort of expecting this kind of reaction:
But I gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised! Is it perfect? Nope. Any musician can pick out a few notes that go flat or just sound a little off. But was it as bad as some of the videos that are out there? Not at all. In fact...there are parts of the non-autotuned version that sound WAAAAAAAAAAY better than the produced version.
