At least one retailer is taking action following the recent gun violence at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL.
Dick's Sporting Goods announced on their social media accounts that they were taking steps as a company to prevent the sale of the types of weapons so often used in these mass shootings.
Dick's even admits that, while it wasn't the weapon used in the shooting, they discovered that Nicolas Cruz had bought a weapon from one of their stores last year.
As a result, the retailer, who also owns 35 Field & Stream retail locations, is taking steps to further prevent potential violent criminals from purchasing deadly weapons at their stores.
Dick's is also encouraging elected officials to pass common-sense gun control legislation.
It will be interesting to see if other retailers follow suit, and the effect that this will have on our future.
