America has been "runnin on Dunkin" for years, but is that about to change? Well...no, not really, but a name change IS in order.
No, they're not changing to Dunkin' Burgers or anything crazy like that (here's lookin at you iHOB).
They are, however, removing the Donuts from their name.
Yep, that's right. Dunkin' Donuts will now just be "Dunkin'"
It’s official: We’re going by Dunkin’ now. 🤗 After 68 years of America running on Dunkin’, we're moving to a first-name basis. 🧡 Excited to be #BFFstatus with you all 👯☕️🍩 #firstnamebasis #besties pic.twitter.com/hmzd2Bamlm— Dunkin' (@dunkindonuts) September 25, 2018
While donuts of course are still a staple of the menu, the name change is meant to not pigeonhole the brand. After all, they offer breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and all sorts of other stuff too.
Because we're America, and the internet hates change, not everyone is stoked about the new identity.

See? Doesn't make sense
Then what is the thing we are Dunkin'?— Peter Matias (@I_theJury) September 25, 2018
Nope, sorry you will always be Dunkin Donuts. I don't want to hear it.— Bibi (@darthmar_mar) September 25, 2018
Most, however, are pretty reasonable, while this gentleman is asking the really hard-hitting questions.
can I have all the big letters that spell "donuts" if you're not gonna use them anymore— Josh Billinson (@jbillinson) September 25, 2018
The name change goes into effect in January.
