People Are Petitioning To Change The Date of Halloween

People really want to change the day that we celebrate Halloween. Over 8,000 people signed a petition for the Halloween and Costume Association’s. The “Saturday Halloween Movement” petition is calling for Halloween to be changed to the last Saturday in October rather than October 31st. Since Halloween typically falls in the middle of the week people feel it would be so much easier for it to be on the weekend.

If we're being honest, there are a lot more pros to this than cons. The petition outlines that it would be easier for parents to get their kids ready for the holiday without being rushed, which makes for more people to celebrate and purchase items related to Halloween which could boost the economy. Another thing is that you wouldn't be out trick or treating late at night on a school night!

On the other hand, Halloween is a tradition that started as All Hallow's Eve, so moving the holiday away from its original date is bound to have its share of naysayers.
