If you walked down Broadway today, you might have seen more than your typical tourists and bachelorette parties. In an effort to prove a point about veganism, two female PETA supporters set up a bed at the corner of 5th and Broadway, stripped down to their lingerie, and cuddled together under the premise that "Vegans Make Better Lovers".
PETA's effort from the display is to remind people that "eating meat can put a damper on bedroom time - by reducing blood flow to all the body's organs," according to an official statement from the organization. They go on to say that vegans spare the lives of 200 animals per year, and that eating meat is linked to higher rates of heart disease, strokes, diabetes, obesity, and cancer.
Kudos to them for being creative in their efforts to make a statement.
Also, I like steak.
Either way, it definitely caught some people's attention today!
