5 Things Other Than Dinner To Do This Valentine's Day

I hate Valentine's Day.

There, I said it. It's not that I hate the concept of Valentine's Day. I hate the hoopla around it. Making dinner reservations weeks ahead of time, paying 10x the normal price for flowers, the whole dog and pony show AROUND Valentine's Day.

Thankfully, my wife also hates going to a restaurant on Valentine's Day and dealing with the crowds. If you're in the same boat, there's plenty to do around Nashville that DOESN'T involve a dinner reservation.

Chocolate and Wine at City Winery

Technically you DO need a reservation for this, but at least it's something different than just an overpriced dinner. The first seating is already sold out, but you can still get into the second seating for $35 a person. It's exactly what it sounds like. A bunch of chocolate, paired with an appropriate wine collection. Honestly, doesn't that sound WAY more romantic than an hour-long wait in a crowded steakhouse? Reserve your spot here

Boos and Booze @ Pins Mechanical

If drinks and arcade games is more your love language, one of Nashville's newest hot spot is offering up some romance this week for Valentine's Day. Stop by for a specialty gin-based cocktail called "Love Struck" and fill out a Valentine's Day Mad Lib that could win you a $150 gift card to share with your special someone or keep for yourself. Plus, Pins boasts bowling, old school video games, pinball and more to bring out the competitive side of your relationship.

Spend the night under the stars at Adventure Science Center

The first showing is sold out, but there are three other shows over Valentine's Day weekend that are simply OUT OF THIS WORLD. Cozy up with bae during Romance in the Stars, a 45-minute show at the Science Center's world-class Sudekum Planetarium. The best part? Clouds and cold temps won't get in the way of your special night under 6.5 million stars. Get your tickets for just $19 here

Cupid's Crawl

Single? Married? Just dating? Here's a bar crawl that everyone can love. The bar crawl is actually Saturday night along Lower Broadway. Along with live music, giveaways, and drink specials, you'll be given a wristband that matches your dating situation - green for single, yellow for "it's complicated", and red for taken - so you know who's off limits and who's yours for the taking. Tickets are just $!0 and you can get in here. 21+ only
