The oil industry, like so many others, has taken a beating during the COVID-19 pandemic, with gas prices nationwide plummeting due to a lack of demand. For the first time in years, in fact, it's dropped below a dollar per gallon, at least at one gas station in Tennessee.
Patriot Gas in Paris, about an hour west of Nashville, is advertising gas prices at just 99 cents.
Last week, a gas station in London, Kentucky became the first station in America top drop below a buck, and I'm sure there will be more to come.
For now, gas in Metro Nashville isn't quite that low, but the website Gas Buddy does list several spots around town below $1.50.
