While the Recording Academy hasn't made an official statement at this time, multiple sources have told Rolling Stone that the 2021 Grammy Awards, originally scheduled for January 31st, have been postponed due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19 in the Los Angeles area
Organizers are hoping to re-schedule for a date in March. The plan was already for a very limited show with no audience and only presenters and performers allowed on-site, but with cases in California surging to over 50,000 cases per day recently, the Academy has chosen to wait and hope that the situation is a little more amenable to an awards show in a couple of months.
