Have You Seen the Trailer For The New Sitcom Based in Nashville?

It could be argued that Nashville's current popularity boom started years ago with the TV Show Nashville. Now, a couple year after that show went off the air for the final time, a new Netflix sitcom is shining a new spotlight on Music City. This one, however, hasn't been as well received by locals.

Netflix's 10-episode sitcom Country Comfort stars former American Idol runner-up Katherine McPhee and Eddie Cibrian of CSI: Miami fame, and it highlights a young country singer named Bailey who takes a job as a nanny for a "rugged cowboy" played by Cibrian.

Check out the trailer first, and reserve your judgment until the end.

Needless to say, where Nashville often hit the mark, locals are calling out Country Comfort for being a little...erm...off kilter for what Nashville really is in 2021.

Basically - what Netflix has done is created a parody of what the rest of the world THINKS Nashville is like, and turned it into a pandering representation of that parody.

At what point do we shed the image of being a bunch of backwoods rednecks who wear cowboy hats and constantly say ya'll?

I mean, I do say ya'll a lot, but I do not own a cowboy hat.

The comments haven't been kind to Country Comfort - even the YouTube comments seem to have been turned off. But if you're interested, the show starts on March 19th.
