Amazon basically killed the shopping mall...and now they're about to open their first retail location in a shopping mall.
Yes, while the online giant has basically cornered the consumer goods market, 85% of clothing purchases are still done at actual brick-and-mortar stores. And it makes sense. How many times have you bought something online, only to return it because it doesn't fit right or look the same on you as you thought it would?
Well, Amazon wants to combine the style and convenience that you're used to with the traditional shopping experience by opening a new outlet called Amazon Style...in a shopping mall..in Glendale, California.
Similar to their current online fashion tool, Amazon hopes to feature looks and trends designed by influencers with the traditional try and buy shopping experience, while sing technology like QR codes and touch screens to bring that experience into the 21st century.
The store is slated to open later in 2022, and if it's successful they could branch out to other cities as well.
Would you go to an Amazon Retail store?
