Two Nashville staples - Party Fowl and Status Dough - teamed up to create the first ever Nashville hot doughnut.
According to the restaurant's Facebook, it's a "traditional old fashioned doughnut with a not-so traditional twist: pure Nashville Hot Chicken spices in the dough." It was launched over the weekend for the Titans game, and is now available for purchase during weekend brunch at all Party Fowl locations and at Status Dough in East Nashville and Knoxville.
Nashville food blog Eater says that "there is the savory illusion of fried chicken in its flavor, complemented by the pleasant cakey interior and added texture from the glazed crunch". There's no actual chicken in it, though, just a little bit of heat as you eat your way through that traditional cakey sweet doughnut.
