Nashville Potholes Causing Tire Prices To Inflate

We've seen inflation at the gas pumps, at the grocery stores, and virtually everywhere else we buy things. Now, the tire shops aren't even immune to it. But in Nashville specifically, tire prices are going through the roof. A winter that saw a nearly 100% increase in snow and ice accumulation, combined with a nationwide rubber shortage, have caused local tire prices to increase by as much as 15%.

Not only are prices going up, but they're becoming harder to find. It can take days and sometimes even weeks for specific tires to arrive.

The pothole problem has finally gotten the attention of state officials. TDOT is investigating the type of asphalt used on most roadways to see if there's a flaw that's making it more susceptible to erosion.

In the meantime, be prepared for more potholes, and more expenses to fix the damage caused by them.
