Ed Sheeran is planning a fundraising concert next week in Birmingham, England alongside Camila Cabello and several other A-list stars. The profits from the show will go towards aiding the people in Ukraine through the Disasters Emergency Committee's Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. Well, word about the concert definitely got to the Ukraine, and some musicians currently fighting in the war want to be a part of it.
Check out the TikTok posted by Ukranian rock band Antytila
Hello Ed, greetings from Kyiv. We are Ukranian musicians, from the Ukranian band Antytila, one of the most popular Ukranian bands, with a lot of fans in the Ukraine and all over the world. In peacetime our concerts gather our stadiums. The war has changed our life. And now we are fighting against the Russian occupiers. We thank you, and all of the British people for their support. Believe me, we are grateful and we will always remember this. Today, we learned about your charity concert for Ukraine, which will take place in Birmingham. And we offer to make a live broadcast between Kyiv and Birmingham with Antytila temporarily joining the gig remotely. Our band will play our music in Kyiv, a city that has not surrendered and will never surrender to the Russian occupiers. You will play in Birmingham. We are not afraid to play under the bombs. Through music we want to show the world that Ukraine is strong and undeterred. We will fight and sing in front of the whole world that support us. So, on March 29th, we ready.
Antytila's TikTok has been liked over 800,000 times and commented on more than 40,000 times in just a couple of days, and of course Ed already found out about it and responded.
No word on if Antytila will be able to pipe in their performance live from Kyiv, but Ed at least is showing his support!
