A new documentary about Nashville premieres at the Belcourt tonight, and it's not quite the rosy picture of Music City that you'd think.
"By day, it is a lush oasis. Peaceful, a wonderful place to raise a family. But come nightfall, the bachelorettes emerge," says the voiceover in the teaser.
The film IS real. Ben Oddo, the film's creator, claims on his website that Nashville Bachelorettes is "a comedic short about one journalist's quest to figure out whether bachelorettes are the worst thing to happen to the city or the best. Part 60 Minutes, part Daily Show, it features interviews with local and national thought leaders before turning to the bachelorettes themselves. What Ben discovers...will leave you feeling mildly amused."
The film has some cache behind it as well, as it's produced by Mike Leavitt and Rachel Neubeck, who's credits include Impractical Jokers and ESPN+ among others.
Tickets to the Premiere can be purchase for $20 on the Belcourt's website, and we'll see what other platforms the documentary can be found on soon.
