First 'Super Blue Blood Moon' in 150 Years Coming on January 31!

THE 'SUPER BLUE BLOOD MOON' IS HAPPENING FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 150 YEARS ON JANUARY 31!

Okay... I HATE space... like, it makes me sick to my stomach just thinking about it, but this is pretty cool!

The lunar event on January 31 is third in a string of recent "supermoons," which is when the moon is closer to the Earth in its orbit and appears about 14 percent brighter.

It is also a "blue moon," which is the second full moon that happens in the same calendar month. The first blue moon took place back on January 1!

It all coincides with a total lunar eclipse, which is called a "blood moon" when the moon is in the Earth's shadow and takes on a reddish tint.

--- Put it all together and it has the coolest name ever haha  "Super Blue Blood Moon!"---

The last time we've seen a 'Super Blue Blood Moon' was more than 150 years ago, recorded on March 31, 1866!

According to NASA, people living in North America, Alaska, or Hawaii, the eclipse will be visible before sunrise on Jan. 31.
