This past weekend was a HUGE weekend for the progression of our communities! Friday marked a milestone in the more than 100 year history of the Boy Scouts Of America!
They're now accepting girls into ALL of its scouting programs!
Before Friday, girls were invited to join other scouting programs -- but NOW they are even changing their named from 'Boy Scouts of America' to 'Scouts BSA!'
Girls and Boys aged 11-17 can join the Scouts Program!
"We wanted to land on something that evokes the past but also conveys the inclusive nature of the program going forward," Chief Scout Executive Mike Surbaugh said of the new name. "We're trying to find the right way to say we're here for both young men and young women."
