UPDATE: Tennessee Salons & Barbershops Could Open May 6!

Less than 24 hours after Tennessee Governor, Bill Lee, issued his new safer-at-home order stating that close-contact businesses would be closed through May 29, law makers are saying that those businesses will be allowed to open on May 6!

Republican representative from Goodlettsville, Johnny Garrett, announced in a Facebook post Wednesday morning:

UPDATE UPDATE TO MY PREVIOUS POST per my call with Gov. Bill Lee
Beauty Salons, Barbershops and other close contact businesses will be opened up NEXT WEEK (MAY 6th) with guidance coming. Your engagement and messages made this possible! Keep me informed of your issues so I can advocate on your behalf! It’s one of my jobs as YOUR state representative!

So businesses like hair salons, barbershops, massage therapists and nail technicians, will be allowed to reopen on May 6. The reopening will come with additional guidelines from the state's Unified Command.

Also, this reopening will only go into effect for 89 of the 95 counties in Tennessee. Counties with their own health departments such as; Davidson, Shelby, Hamilton, Knox, Sullivan and Madison counties are excluded.
