Gov. Lee Says Republican GOP Convention In Early Talks To Move to Nashville

Tennessee Governor, Bill Lee, addressed the possibility of Nashville becoming the new host city for the 2020 Republican National Convention.

Bill Lee said he has not had any direct conversations about the move from Charlotte to Nashville, but stated that his office was in early discussions with GOP leaders.

At his press conference, he stated:

We certainly would be interested in welcoming that to our city. It would be a great opportunity for us to build upon the economic recovery that’s already occurring.

According to Lee's conference, he believed the GOP leaders will be coming to Nashville on Thursday, June 4, to tour the city about the possibility of moving the convention here.
